VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A six-year-old boy’s birthday was made extra special by the Victorville Police Department.
Kristan Luna, the mother of Kaden said that his birthday party had to be canceled due to the governor’s orders as a result of COVID-19. Kaden is really too young to fully understand that first, his very first year of school at Green Tree East Leadership Academy ended months early and now his birthday party was being canceled.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many parents have been forced to think outside the box. Some children are being surprised with birthday parades with family and friend’s driving by in order to maintain social distancing. Others are doing Zoom parties or one of many other ways to celebrate without physically gathering. Kaden’s grandmother decided that she wanted to help try to make his day special so she emailed the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and asked for their help.
On Saturday, March 4, 2020, deputies from the Victorville Station arrived at Kadens home to surprise him with not only a greeting but also a small gift. Kristan said that Kaden was so excited about his surprise. “Kaden’s birthday was made thanks to all these awesome deputies,” said Kristan.
