VICTORVILLE, CA. – A Victorville father was shot and killed while in his vehicle at the Green Tree Liquor Store on Wednesday afternoon.
On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at around 2:50 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station were dispatched to 14275 Hesperia Road for the report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found Christopher Brim, 31, in his vehicle unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. Brim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to assume the investigation. It was determined through investigation that a second vehicle arrived at the store parking lot and parked near his vehicle. The vehicle was driver by 22-year-old Alicia Rivas, of Hesperia and 21-year-old Antonio Mota was the passenger. Mota got out of the vehicle, walked over to Brim’s parked car and fired into the vehicle, striking Brim. Rivas and Mota fled the scene but several hours later, deputies located the pair in a different vehicle. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver continued on but then pulled over and were subsequently arrested.
A handgun was found inside Brim’s vehicle and Mota was found to have a gunshot wound when arrested. It is believed that Brim shot back before succumbing to his injuries. Mota was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries resulting from the gunshot wound. He was booked into jail for murder, while Rivas was booked for Accessory.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed the incident, is asked to contact Detective David Lara, Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail at (909)387-3589. Callers can remain anonymous and contact WeTip at 800-78CRIME or www.wetip.com.
