Update: The third suspect involved in the stabbing of two Victorville partygoers was arrested on Monday, October 29, 2018, just before 11:00 p.m. Jonathan Barrera Zambrano, 20, of Adelanto, was arrested after Victor Valley Station deputies responded to a call in the 11700 block of Desert Glen Street in the City of Adelanto. Zambrano was identified as the third suspect in the Sunday, October 28, 2018, Victorville Halloween party stabbing. Zambrano was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Attempted Murder where he is being held in lieu of $750,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
VICTORVILLE – Two Victorville partygoers were stabbed at a Halloween party on early Sunday morning.
Authorities said that in Sunday, October 28, 2018, at around 3:20 a.m., they responded to a report of a stabbing in the 14100 block of Cortez Drive in the City of Victorville. When they arrived they located the two male victim’s, one a 22-year-old man and the other a 23-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. One of the victims was airlifted and the other was taken by ground ambulance to trauma centers. Both of the victims required surgery and both, at this time are in stable condition.
Through investigation, deputies learned that three men were involved in a verbal altercation with the two victims. As they argued, the suspects retrieved concealed knives and began stabbing the two victims. Following the attack, the suspects fled the location. Information obtained during the investigation led deputies to the two suspects, a 17-year-old boy and 21-year-old Adelanto resident, Jesus Rios. Both were arrested, the juvenile was booked into the High Desert Juvenile Detention Facility and Rios was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder. The third suspect has also been identified and has not yet been detained. Rios is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, he is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
