VICTORVILLE – A 41-year-old Victorville man was arrested after assaulting a staff member at Victor Valley Global Medical Center (VVGMC) on Friday.
On February 11, 2017, at around 12:42 p.m. staff reported that a patient in the emergency room, by the name of Andrew Martin Moran went to the hospital for an undisclosed reason. While in the waiting room, Moran activated the fire alarm.
“A staff member tried to talk to Moran and Moran rushed him, grabbing him around the waist [and] hit the employee in the chin with his head,” said Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. Moran was detained by VVGMC staff until deputies arrived to take him into custody. Moran was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for battery and false report of an emergency. He was cited and released with a promise to appear in court at a later date.
