RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A 41-year-old Rancho Cucamonga daycare owner was arrested for the sexual assault of a 5-year-old child authorities said. The investigation began on Friday, February 10, 2017, when the small girl told her mother that Jose Guzman assaulted her. Detectives learned that Guzman and his wife operated the ‘Guzman/Villarial Family Child Care’ at their home located at 10185 La Vine Street in the City of Rancho Cucamonga since 2012.
Days later, on Monday, February 13, 2017, a search warrant was served at the home and Guzman was transported to the Rancho Cucamonga Police Station for questioning. At the conclusion of the interview, Guzman was arrested for the continuous sexual abuse of a child, lewd acts with a minor under 14, and sexual penetration by a foreign or unknown object.
Guzman was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Detectives believe that there may be additional victims. The children currently enrolled are being interviewed by authorities.
Parents are urged to contact Detective Chris Hughes at (909) 477-2800 if they have used Guzman/Villarial Family Child Care for daycare services.
