VICTORVILLE – A 37-year-old Victorville man was arrested after a retail theft and a residential burglary on Wednesday morning. At around 8:20 a.m. deputies from the Victorville station responded to a business in the Victorville Plaza Shopping Center located at 14598 Seventh Street for the report of a theft. When the deputy arrived he made contact with Milton Yates, as he was walking to his silver Jeep with stolen merchandise.
The deputy recognized the vehicle, which was one that was driven by a burglary suspect from 7:00 a.m. that morning. The suspect entered a home in the 15600 block of Gazelle Street through the garage. As the suspect removed property he moved through the house he discovered someone was home. When he saw the occupant he left the home in a silver Jeep.
All of the stolen property from the home and the business were recovered and Yates was booked into the High Desert for burglary. Authorities believe that Yates may have been involved in other burglaries.
