VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A Victorville man was arrested for a dangerous pursuit with Victorville deputies after being 86’d from a bar on Saturday.
On Saturday, August 31, 2019, deputies responded to Ricky’s Bar located in the 13700 block of Hesperia Road in the City of Victorville for the report of a suspicious person. The employees had told David Robert Sawyer, 36, to leave the bar and Sawyer was reportedly driving around the parking lot displaying erratic behavior.
When deputies arrived the saw the Jeep he was driving hit the curb and subsequently come to a stop in the parking lot. One of the deputies stopped behind Sawyer with his emergency lights activated. He failed to yield to the deputies and led them on a pursuit, which concluded at Hesperia Road and Forrest Avenue when Sawyer collided with a parked pickup truck. He attempted to flee the scene on foot, but was detained by deputies at the scene.
Sawyer was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for evading with disregard for safety and driving under the influence of alcohol. He is scheduled to appear in Victorville Superior Court on September 4, 2019.
