VICTORVILLE – A Victorville transient, was arrested for a probation violation stemming from an attempted rape arrest that occurred in January 2018.
James Arman, 22, was arrested for the outstanding warrant for a probation violation on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at around 10:47 p.m. in the 14500 block of Seventh Street. Victorville Sheriff’s Station officials said that the original incident, Arman was in the restroom at the Denny’s on Valley Center Drive. A female employee entered the restroom to clean it, and found Arman masturbating inside. “Arman grabbed the employee and attempted to pull her into the bathroom stall. She was afraid he was going to attempt to rape her and managed to get out of his grasp and get out of the restroom.
Arman was arrested at the scene for Assault to Commit Rape, Lewd Conduct: Indecent Exposure, False Imprisonment, and Sexual Battery. On February 7, 2018, Arman accepted a plea deal, pleading no contest to Attempted False Imprisonment and Resisting Arrest. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail, with credit for 13 days of time served, and 13 days of conduct credit. He was required to serve the balance of his time at a credit rate of 50% (total of approximately 47 days). He also was sentenced to 3 years of formal probation.
He is currently being held at the High Desert Detention Center without bail for a probation violation and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on October 25, 2018.
