VICTORVILLE – A 24-year-old woman was arrested last week for cruelty to her 83-year-old grandmother.
On Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., Nikki Alida Houwaart was arrested at her home in the 14300 block of Bonanza Road in Victorville. Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station Spokeswoman Staci Parks said that Houwaart was screaming obscenities at her grandmother. She also threw a pillow at her, leaving the elderly woman in fear for her safety.
The elderly woman was not injured as a result of the incident. Houwaart was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for Cruelty to an Elder. She was released on September 7, 2018, at 4:12 a.m. pending charges. Houwaart was previously arrested for battery in June 2018, but charges have not been filed as a result of either arrest.
