VICTORVILLE, Ca. – A traffic collision in front of Brentwood Park in the city of Victorville killed a 48-year-old Victorville woman.
At around 2:01 p.m., on Thursday, September 5, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Station and emergency medical personnel responded to a head-on collision involving a gold 2002 ES300Lexus sedan and a black 2005 Jeep Cherokee.
Laura Garcia, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.
Through investigation it was learned that the Lexus was driving west on Hook Boulevard when the black 2005 Jeep traveling east on Hook Boulevard crossed into the westbound lanes, striking the Lexus head-on.
The driver of the Jeep, Felipe Guzman, 40, was transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries and is expected to survive. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing and it is still unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
Hook Boulevard between Showhorse Lane and Aloe Road was closed temporarily for the investigation. The accident is under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team
