MORENO VALLEY, Ca. – A 17-year-old Vista del Lago High School student was arrested for the possession of a weapon, police said.
On the morning of Friday, September 20, 2019, the School Resource Officer assigned to the Vista del Lago (VDLHS) received an anonymous report a student on campus in possession of firearms. The information provided led to the identification of the student at VDLHS. The student was found to have two loaded handguns on the school grounds. He was arrested and booked at the Riverside County Juvenile Hall for multiple weapons charges.
The investigation is ongoing and authorities said that there was no evidence suggesting any threats to either the school or the students.
