The County of San Bernardino is planning for the upcoming 2018 Point-in-Time Count (PITC). The PITC is used to assist the County in receiving government and private grant funding, as well as other resources in order to assist homeless people exit life on the streets and also to help prevent homelessness.
Adult volunteers are needed in each community and from all backgrounds including, college students, civic/nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, current or formerly homeless, those bilingual, service providers, service providers, business and neighborhood groups and anyone else who would like to help alleviate homelessness.
Groups throughout the County of San Bernardino will go out from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018. Groups will help organize the count, identify locations where homeless people live, spend time, and receive services, promote community awareness of homeless issues, and participate on street counter teams.
Those who would like to register to be a volunteer for the Point in Time count should see the San Bernardino County Homeless Partnership website at www.SBCounty.gov/sbchp. Anyone with additional questions, can call or email Michele Bletcher (909)386-8231, mkbletcher@dbh.sbcounty.gov.
