VICTORVILLE – A Hesperia man and a Victorville woman were arrested after being caught in a stolen vehicle Tuesday afternoon. At around 1:30 p.m. a Victorville station deputy spotted a red 1997 Volkswagen Golf that was reported stolen from Victorville on Monday morning.
He conducted a felony traffic stop of the vehicle in the 15400 block of Jasmine Street in the City of Victorville. When the vehicle stopped the deputy found Luis Corella, 38 driving the vehicle and Cassandra Dominguez, 25 in the front passenger seat.
The vehicle was confirmed stolen by the vehicle ID (VIN) number and Corella was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for the possession of stolen property. He was released on Wednesday evening at around 5:15 p.m. with no appearances scheduled at this time.
Dominguez was also arrested for the possession of a stolen vehicle. “ When Dominguez was searched at the jail, she was found to be concealing drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine in her person.,” said Victorville Sheriff Station spokeswoman, Mara Rodriguez. “She was booked on the additional charge of bringing a controlled substance/etc, into a jail.”
Dominguez also was found to have drug related warrants out of San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties. Dominguez is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday afternoon.
