Woman Beaten to Death at Hook Park

VICTORVILLE – A woman was beaten to death by a male suspect at Hook Park in the City of Victorville on Wednesday night. 

At around 8:28 p.m. sheriff’s dispatch received the report of a brutal beating in progress in the south parking lot of Hook Park located at 14973 Joshua Street in the City of Victorville. The reporting party said that the man was slamming the woman on the sidewalk, kicking her and running her over with a vehicle.      

 The suspect vehicle was described by the reporting party as a white Dodge Avenger. The reporting party said that the female appeared to be unconscious, then began having a seizure. The suspect attempted to put the woman inside the vehicle.  When deputies arrived they made contact with one man, holding him at gunpoint.   It is unclear if the man was later identified as the suspect. The woman reportedly had sustained major head trauma as a result of the incident.  

 American Medical Response (AMR) arrived at the scene and pronounced the female victim dead at the scene at around 8:38 p.m.  Several people were at the park at the time of the incident and were interviewed by deputies at the scene. 

City roads were called to the scene to shut Hook Boulevard at Arlette Drive to Ashley Glenn Drive. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said that Homicide Detectives are at the scene investigating the incident.  No further information is available at this time, information will be updated as it is received.
