APPLE VALLEY – A Grand Terrace woman was airlifted with major injuries after a traffic collision on Bear Valley Road and Locust Lane on Sunday morning. At around 11:23 a.m. Deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to the major injury collision. Upon arrival, they determined that 64-year-old Judith Harrison was driving her 1997 Chevrolet Blazer northbound on Locust lane. As she approached the intersection at Bear Valley Road, Walter Reddington, a 35-year-old Big Bear City man attempted to make the left turn onto westbound Bear Valley Road. For reasons that remain under investigation, the 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Harrison stopped in eastbound lanes of Bear Valley Road.
The Chevrolet 1500 struck the Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Harrison. Harrison was airlifted for the treatment of major injuries and Reddington was treated at the scene for his injuries. Bear Valley Road from Cottontail Lane to Westmont Road was closed for several hours while deputies conducted the investigation. The collision is currently under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in Apple Valley. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Deputy Cullum at 760-240-7400.
