YUCAIPA – Two Yucaipa men were attacked with a large stick by an unknown suspect official said.
On Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at around 10:46 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a fight and shots possibly being heard in the 12000 block of 16th Street. When they arrived they learned that the male suspect came onto the victim’s property and struck a 50-year-old victim with a large wooden stick. His 32-year-old son then exited the home and was also struck by the suspect with the large stick. The suspect and the 50-year-old male began fighting and the suspect eventually fled the scene, leaving both residents with minor injuries.
Both victims were transported by ambulance to the hospital and were treated and released. Deputies searched for the suspect but was unable to find him. Deputies did not find any evidence of any gunshots fired. The investigation is ongoing anyone who has information pertinent to this investigation, is urged to contact the Yucaipa Police Department, Detective Bureau.
