REDLANDS – The victim of a burglary that occurred while he was gone from his home, between June 29th and June 3rd found his computer for sale on Offer up several days later. The victim called the Highland Police to report his new finding and they took over the investigation. Deputies acting as potential customers, contacted suspect David Lawrence, a 36-year-old Yucaipa man who was selling the computer.
Deputies and Lawrence planned to meet at a Redlands location with Lawrence believing he was meeting to sell the computer to a civilian. The undercover deputies met with Lawrence at the meeting point, and told the deputies that he had to go grab the computer. Lawrence was stopped and was found to have the victim’s computer in his possession. Deputies obtained a search warrant and during the search of Lawrence’s home, additional stolen property was located.David Lawrence was arrested and booked at Central Detention Center for Possession of Stolen Property. His bail has been set at $25,000.
