YUCAIPA – A 28-year-old Yucaipa man was arrested on Wednesday for manufacturing state and personal checks officials said.

An investigation led deputies and detectives to serve a search warrant at the home of Walter Thomas in the 12300 block of 4th Street. Authorities made contact with Thomas who was found to be in possession of drugs packaged for sales. While at the home, counterfeit checks and a large amount stolen mail were located. Through further investigation, it was learned that Thomas was manufacturing counterfeit state and personal checks.

It is believed that Thomas has been involved in vehicle burglaries, thefts, and check fraud crimes.
