CLAREMONT – One Los Angeles man and two Victorville men were arrested for a shooting that left one man seriously injured.
On Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at around 1:25 p.m. Pomona police responded to a shooting in the area of Harrison and Towne Avenues. As a result of the shooting Pomona Police alerted Harrison Elementary School at around 1:45 p.m. The school, which was around a half of a mile away was placed on lockdown as a precaution. Three male suspects were witnessed running from the scene north on Towne Avenue. Two suspects were taken into custody a short distance away, while the third suspect was initially able to elude arrest.
A K-9 unit was called to the scene to search for the third suspect, who was found hiding in the backyard of a home in the 300 block of Fanshaw Road. Three guns were also located at the scene of the shooting, as well as in the area of the pursuit. Samuel Williams, 42, of Victorville, Malik Slayton, 19, of Victorville, and Deante Williams, 25, of Los Angeles, were all arrested as a result of the shooting. The three male suspects were booked into jail for being felons in possession of a firearm.
