SAN BERNARDINO – The lead pastor of the Muscoy United Methodist Church, who was also at one time the youth director at the United Methodist Church in Ontario was convicted of the sexual abuse of four boys dating back to 1992, District Attorney officials said.
The pastor, according to court testimony offered the boys money in exchange for sexual favors. Stephen James Howard, was arrested in March 2014, for molesting a 14-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man, who was a child when the abuse began. The abuse of the children who attended his church continued until they were adults. Later additional victims came forward to report the abuse.
On Friday, October 27, 2017, Stephen Howard was convicted of multiple counts of sexual abuse. Howard faces 300 years to life in prison. He will be sentenced on November 29, 2017, at the San Bernardino County Superior Court.
