ADELANTO – A 38-year-old Adelanto woman is facing felony charges for her vandalism of a church on Sunday.
At around 8:52 a.m., the pastor of Desert Streams Baptist Church arrived at the church located at 18112 Greening Street in the City of Adelanto. When he arrived he noticed writing on the church doors that said, “Beware” and “Repent”. The words were written in red lipstick. The pastor called to report the incident and Victor Valley Station deputies responded to the church. When the deputy arrived he checked the neighborhood surrounding the church and found graffiti with the same words written on several walls.
Through investigation, the suspect was identified as Katrina Stewart. The deputy made contact with Stewart, who was still in possession of the lipstick used in the vandalism. Stewart was arrested for Vandalism at a Place of Worship and was booked into the High Desert Detention Center. She is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. On Monday, September 24, 2018, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office filed felony charges against Stewart.
Anyone with information regarding this crime is urged to contact Deputy G. Montenegro at Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, (760) 552-6800. Persons wishing to remain anonymous can report information to WeTip by calling 1-800-78-CRIME, or by accessing the website at www.wetip.com.
