APPLE VALLEY – The man who died as a result of a hit-and-run collision on Friday evening has been identified as a 71-year-old John Reed of Apple Valley. The call was first reported as a man down call reporting that the male subject, was lying on Highway 18, just west of Kiowa Road.
When deputies and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene they determined that the male subject lost his life as a result of major head trauma. No vehicle stopped, and sheriff’s officials are investigating to determine the driver involved in the collision.
