HESPERIA – Over $72,000 worth of televisions were stolen during a semi-truck theft last month and Hesperia station deputies are asking for the public’s help to locate the suspect and stolen merchandise.
Dispatchers received the report just before 10:30 a.m. that the semi-truck and trailer were stolen from 9000 block of Tamarisk Avenue in the City of Hesperia. Investigation into the incident revealed that the owner parked the loaded truck and trailer in an unsecured storage yard near his home at around 10:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016, The following morning the truck and trailer carrying a quantity of 377 — 32” Samsung flat panel LED televisions and a quantity of 18 — 55” Samsung flat panel LED televisions was gone.
A witness reported that a Hispanic man was seen near the vehicle while it was parked at the location. The man was described as 5’10”- 6’ tall, 180-200 points and was wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap. The truck and trailer, both marked “JTS Trucking” were both located, but the televisions have yet to be located. “There have been other similar thefts in the City and deputies are asking for your help with any information that may help us recover the stolen property and prevent additional thefts from continuing to occur,” Hesperia Sheriff Station spokeswoman Karen Hunt said in a news release.
