BARSTOW, Calif. – A Barstow man was arrested for a stabbing that left a 39-year-old man injured officials said.
On Thursday, May 2, 2019, at around 11:37 a.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of Borrego Drive regarding a stabbing. When they arrived, witnesses showed them to the male victim. Officers checked the victim who was suffering from a stab wound to his upper torso. The man was transported to the Loma Linda Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Barstow Police Detectives responded to collect evidence and assume the investigation. Through investigation, the suspect was identified as Luis Gutierrez.
Detective Arias obtained a search warrant for Gutierrez’s residence and upon serving the warrant, located additional evidence inside the residence. Detectives were unable to locate Gutierrez.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.
