When the officer arrived, he made contact with the victim, a 32-year-old Barstow man. The victim told the officer that he was waiting in his vehicle for his wife to get off of work when the suspect vehicle parked in front of him. The midsized two-toned black and grey SUV stopped and a 30 to 40-year-old Hispanic female front passenger asked him for directions. An approximately 30-year-old White man got out of the back drivers side of the SUV and ran toward the victim pointing a handgun at him and demanding his wallet. The victim got out of the vehicle and ran. When he looked back he saw that the suspect was searching inside his vehicle. When the victim returned to his vehicle he found that his cell phone and around $1800 in cash had been stolen. The SUV fled the area.
The victim described the suspects as a white man with blonde hair that was around 30-years-old. He was around 6’0” tall and approximately 185 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt, black shorts, and a black baseball hat. He was armed with a small black semi-automatic handgun and was riding in the backseat behind the driver. The second suspect was a Hispanic Female adult who was 30 to 40-years-old. She had brown hair and had a slender build. She was wearing a black spaghetti strap shirt and was the front passenger in the vehicle. The third suspect was the driver of the vehicle and was either a Hispanic or White male adult. He was around 185 pounds, clean-shaven, and was wearing a black baseball hat. Surveillance of the incident was captured and officers did obtain that as evidence.
