BARSTOW – A 20-year-old Barstow woman was arrested after crashing into a fence while allegedly driving under the influence on Tuesday night. At 8:29 p.m. the Barstow Police responded to the call of the moderate damage traffic collision in the 1800 block of Armory Road.
When the officer arrived it was apparent that driver, Blanca Orozco, 20, of Barstow, failed to negotiate the left turn from eastbound Armory Road onto the southbound lanes of Higgins Street. Orozco crashed into a fence to the property located on the southeast portion of the Armory Road. The officer noticed that Orozco displayed signs of being under the influence of Alcohol.
Further investigation confirmed the officer’s initial thoughts that Orozco had been drinking and she was arrested at the scene. A sample of Orozco’s blood was submitted to the San Bernardino County Crime Lab for analysis. Orozco was booked into the Barstow Jail for DUI, cited and released on Wednesday morning.
