UPDATE: As of 10:47 am 15 freeway is now open in both directions.
CAJON PASS – Since the Blue Cut Fire that started and rapidly spread on the morning of Tuesday, August 16th, residents of the High Desert have been waiting for the time when the announcement of the I15 would reopen.
Prior to the northbound opening at 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17th, gas stations were at risk of running out of fuel in the area due to the freeway closure.
The California Highway Patrol also confirmed on Thursday morning at around 9:40 a.m. that they were in the process of opening the southbound I-15. All ramps will remain closed until further notice, CHP officials said.
