CHINO HILLS – A 31-year-old Chino Hills man was arrested after being involved in an altercation leading to life-threatening injuries of the victim Saturday. Deputies from the Chino Hills Station responded to the area of Pine Avenue and the 71 freeway for an attempted murder.
Through investigation, they were able to determine that Hernandez and the victim were involved in an altercation. Fernandez followed the victim and rammed his vehicle twice at around 50 miles per hour officials said. When the victim attempted to access the 71 freeway, Fernandez rammed the vehicle again, this time causing the victim’s vehicle to go through the metal guard rail.
The vehicle rolled around 60’ down the embankment where it came to a rest. The victim was transported to the hospital with major life-threatening injuries. Fernandez was arrested at around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at his home in the 6200 block of Sunny Meadow Lane. He was booked into the West Valley Detention center for attempted murder and is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court on Tuesday morning.
