PHELAN – During the probation check of the Phelan home of Jason Kyle Mitchell, a convicted felon, authorities were led to the finding of an apparent chop shop authorities said.
On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, just before 1:00 p.m. San Bernardino County Probation officers and Victor Valley Station deputies went to the 2800 block of Brawley Road in Phelan to conduct a probation check of 29-year-old Mitchell.
During the search, ammunition was located inside the home leading to a search warrant for the home. Vehicles, trailers, ATV’s, motorcycles and their parts including, engine parts, transmissions, exhaust systems and vehicles stripped to its frame. Deputies conducted a record check and learned that some of the vehicles were confirmed to be stolen.
The San Bernardino County Auto Theft Task Force (SANCATT) responded to the residence and assumed the investigation.
