LOMA LINDA – A 30-year-old Loma Linda father who works as a Riverside County correctional deputy was arrested for child abuse of his 3-month-old daughter.
On Monday, June 25, 2018, the baby girl was rushed by ambulance from Beaver Medical Group in the City of Redlands to Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) for a fracture to his skull. After being seen at LLUMC, forensic pediatricians discovered numerous injuries on the baby, in many different stages of healing indicating ongoing child abuse. The baby remains in the hospital in the Intensive Care Unit while her father, Jason Gordon Wenker was arrested on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, suspected as the person who caused her injuries.
Wenker was booked into the Central Detention Center for Willful Cruelty to a Child with $100,000 bail. Wenker posted bail on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, Wenker posted bail and was released pending future court dates. Wenker was placed on administrative leave by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
