VICTORVILLE – A deputy, a Sheriff’s Explorer Scout, and two others were injured in a traffic collision on Tuesday afternoon.
The traffic collision involving a marked San Bernardino County patrol vehicle and a 2017 Chevy Cruze occurred in the intersection of Eleventh and Nisqualli Road in the City of Victorville. Authorities said that the deputy, along with the Sheriff’s Explorer Scout were responding to a call reporting suspicious circumstances in the 15400 block of Nisqualli Road. The deputy rushed north on Eleventh Avenue with his lights and sirens activated. As he entered the intersection with Nisqualli, the Chevy, which was traveling west on Nisqualli Road also entered the intersection causing the vehicles to collide.
Both the driver and single passenger in the Chevy were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries. The deputy and Sheriff’s Explorer Scout were also transported to local hospitals for treatment.
