ADELANTO – A Sheriff’s Deputy from the Victor Valley Station, serving the Adelanto area was shot multiple times on Thursday morning.
The deputy was conducting an unrelated traffic stop in the 18000 block of Bellflower Road at around 1:00 a.m. when he heard gunshots being fired nearby. The deputy went toward the Raintree Gardens Apartments, located at 18125 Bellflower Street to investigate the situation when shots were fired in his direction. The deputy shot back but ultimately was shot. The deputy remained conscious and was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where he underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition.
The apartment complex was evacuated and ultimately several subjects were detained, one believed to be the shooter. It is unknown what led to the shooting, information will be updated as it is received.
