DESERT HOT SPRINGS – A Desert Hot Springs sergeant saw a need and came through, digging into his own pockets to supply for some of the needs of a family of eight who were victims to a house fire. The fire occurred in the 66300 block of 2nd Street. The family fled to safety before being able to remove any of their belongings.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Sergeant Saucier drove over to the local Kmart store and purchased clothing, diapers, and water for the family. “We are thankful that the family was not injured and we are proud of Sergeant Saucier for his selfless action,” said Desert Hot Springs Police officials.
The fire was quickly contained by CalFire firefighters, but the home sustained major damage as a result of the fire.
