MODESTO, Calif. – A 911 call was made on the afternoon of Sunday, April 14, 2019, indicating that a man had just stabbed and shot his brother.
Jose Sanchez, 63, of Modesto, called 911 after injuring his 61-year-old brother. Deputies and emergency medical personnel responded to the 1800 block of Vivian Road. Sanchez was waiting when authorities arrived at the two brothers shared home. Sanchez led police to the back where they found his brother suffering with two stab wounds and a .22 caliber bullet to his torso.
The motive is unknown, authorities said that both men appeared to be intoxicated at the time. Sanchez was booked into jail for attempted murder. The victim, his brother, was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
