HESPERIA, Ca. – A family is devastated after a suspected DUI driver slammed into their vehicle, killing an adult male and two family dogs.
The traffic collision occurred on Friday, December 18, 2020, at around 8:00 p.m. in the area of Highway 138 and Marker 30. An adult male driver died as a result of the collision. Three dogs were riding with the driver, one of the three dogs suffered from a spinal injury as well as two broken legs. The injured dog was put down as a result of the severity of his injuries. The second dog, a 15-year-old poodle died at the scene of the collision.
The third dog, a 1-year-old German Shepherd and Husky mix named Chulla fled the scene of the collision, likely in shock. Chulla is a spayed female dog who has short white hair with light beige and brown markings. She is approximately 80 pounds and was wearing a collar at the time of the collision.
