FONTANA – A 73-year-old man was arrested for a triple homicide in the City of Fontana on Wednesday officials said.
Police officers from the Fontana Police Department were dispatched to 14520 Village at around 2:54 a.m. for the report of shots being fired. When they arrived they found a male, later identified as Ali Zafar, walking in the interior of the apartment complex. The suspect complied with the officer’s demand and dropped his gun. He was taken into custody without further incident.
Officers entered a nearby apartment and located four victims, all suffering from gunshot wounds. Two females and one male, all adults were pronounced dead at the scene. The fourth victim was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Authorities said that the victims and the suspect are related.
Through investigation, it was learned that the suspect killed his family members as a result of a financial family issue. Fontana Police Department Investigations Unit is currently handling the investigation and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Fontana Police Department at 909-350-7700.
