RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Ca. – A 38-year-old Fontana man was arrested for the robbery of a Rancho Cucamonga Del Taco restaurant.
The robbery occurred on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, just before 8:30 a.m. at the Del Taco located in the 7200 block of Archibald Avenue. The victim said that the suspect came into the business, ordered food and sat in the dining area. Shortly after, the female employee (victim) continued her duties and looked over and noticed the suspect in the employee area, behind the counter with a knife.He ordered her and the two other employees to the back room and closed the door. While in the back room, the suspect was heard in the other room where the safe was located.
The suspect opened the unlocked safe and stole the cash inside. The suspect kicked the door to the room where the victims were held and fled the scene. Surveillance footage captured the suspect inside the restaurant and the photos were released to the public.
On Saturday, March 14, 2020, a tip was received leading to the suspect’s identity. The suspect was recognized by the photo released by authorities and was identified as Xavier Aaron Dedeaux, 38, Fontana. Dedeaux was located and arrested during a traffic stop in the City of Fontana. He was booked into jail for Kidnapping and Stong-arm robbery.
