BLOOMINGTON – A 20-year-old Fontana man died on Friday morning after colliding into a tractor-trailer on the 10 freeway eastbound east of Cedar Avenue. At around 7:10 a.m. the California Highway Patrol responded to the two vehicle traffic collision between a 1992 Honda Civic hatchback and a tractor trailer.
Through investigation it was learned that the driver of the Honda, later identified as Manuel Vaca, collided into the back of the tractor trailer that was parked on the right shoulder. Vaca sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:22 a.m. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Friends said that Vaca was a Fontana High School graduate who had just celebrated his 20th birthday on September 10th.
