FONTANA – A 41-year-old Fontana man has been arrested for a Monday evening road rage shooting. Officers from the Fontana Police Department responded a report of a shooting near Citrus and Jurupa. When they arrived they learned that the suspect, now identified as Raanan Cook made contact with the unidentified victim at the intersection where the two exchanged words. The victim left believing the ordeal was over, but Cook again drove up alongside the victim and shot several rounds at the victim. The victim was not hit, but his vehicle was damaged.
The victim was able to give police details about the suspect and suspect vehicle description. Two days later, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at around 6:30 a vehicle with a matching vehicle was located near Citrus and Windcrest. Police searched Raanan’s vehicle and located a spent bullet casing, consistent with the firearm used in the shooting. A search warrant was obtained and executed at Raanan’s home, located in the 15500 block of Colt Avenue in the City of Fontana. Officers located a firearm and bullet casings consistent with those used during the shooting. Raanan was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Attempted Murder.
