YUCAIPA, Calif. – A 27-year-old Hemet man was arrested in connection with several commercial burglaries in Yucaipa, Beaumont, and Banning.
On Saturday, April 6, 2019, at around 3:28 a.m., police responded to multiple burglar alarms from businesses on Yucaipa Boulevard. When they arrived they discovered that numerous businesses were burglarized. Seven business, all closed and all on Yucaipa Boulevard were burglarized. The victim businesses includes; The Party Pantry, AT&T Store, Abby’s Café, Las Tortas Mexican Restaurant, La Mexicana Restaurant, Yucaipa Dance and The Fat Greek.
Detectives assumed the investigation and collected evidence that led to the identification of the suspect, Robert Abdul Coleman. Detectives were able to determine that Coleman was living in the City of Hemet. A search warrant for the home and arrest warrant for Coleman were authored and executed at 3:45 a.m. Coleman was taken into custody. Investigation led to the determination that Coleman was also involved in locations in Beaumont and Banning.
It is believed that Coleman may have burglarized other businesses throughout the Inland Empire. Coleman was driving a silver BMW X5 SUV with California License Plate 7DWZ165. Coleman made entry to the businesses by smashing doors and windows with a sledgehammer.
Coleman was booked at the Central Detention Center for PC 459, Commercial Burglary. He is being held in lieu of $100,000.00 bail.
