A Hemet man is behind bars today for the alleged continuous sexual abuse of two children, officials said.
The arrest came months after a report was made by a victim who told police that 33-year-old, Johnny Villanueva began sexually abusing the victim at only 7-years-old. The victim went on to tell authorities that the sexual abuse continued for approximately four years.
The investigation into the report led to the finding of a second victim who claimed to be abused beginning at 10-years-old.
The incidents were reported to take place in the City of Twentynine Palms. The case was sent over to the District Attorney’s office who obtained a $1 million arrest warrant.
The arrest was made on Thursday afternoon in the 1400 block of Laramie Avenue in the City of Redlands. Villanueva was booked into the Central Detention Center for seven counts related to the sexual abuse as well as unrelated warrants for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
