HESPERIA, Ca. – A 25-year-old Hesperia man was arrested after a vehicle versus pedestrian collision that left an 11-year-old boy dead.
On Sunday, December 27, 2020, at around 5:54 a.m. deputies from the Hesperia Station and emergency medical personnel responded to the area of Main Street just west of Balsam Avenue following a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. When they arrived they found the lifeless body of the 11-year-old boy in the roadway. The involved vehicle and driver had left the scene prior to the arrival of deputies.
The Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team responded to assume the investigation. Main Street was closed in the area of the traffic collision for several hours for the investigation. The investigation led to the identification and arrest of Nicolas Gonzalez, 25, of Hesperia, the driver of the vehicle.
Gonzalez was located at a business in the City of Riverside and was booked at the West Valley Detention Center for Felony Hit and Run Resulting in Death.
