HESPERIA, Ca. – A 56-year-old Hesperia man was airlifted to a trauma center after his two dogs viciously attacked him, authorities said.

On Friday, July 30, 2021, at around 9:36 a.m. deputies from the Hesperia Station and emergency medical personnel responded to a home in the 9000 block of Balsam Avenue in response to a dog bite. The victim told dispatchers that his two adult Pit Bull dogs attacked him when he was inside his home. While the dogs attacked him, he was able to get into a bedroom and called 911. When deputies arrived they found the victim suffering major injuries to his extremities.

The victim was rushed to the hospital and was subsequently airlifted to a trauma center for treatment. Animal Control responded to the home and tranquilizer darts were deployed in order to safely contain the dogs. The two dogs were removed from the home and Animal Control Officers will continue the investigation.
