HESPERIA – A barking dog led a homeowner to an intruder in the attached garage of his home on Wednesday afternoon.
At around 3:15 p.m. the homeowner (victim) was inside his home in the 17500 block of La Junta Street in the City of Hesperia when his dog began barking. The victim went to see why the dog was barking, and located Justin Panek, 25, inside his garage. The victim detained Panek as he called 911 and waited for deputies to respond. Deputies arrived a short time later and took Panek into custody without incident.
Panek was arrested for burglary and is being held in lieu of $125,000 and is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Thursday, May 2, 2018.
