LOMA LINDA – A Loma Linda man was arrested for starting fires at Loma Linda apartments last week. Witnesses saw the man lighting the fires in the 24500 block of Stewart Street last Monday and quickly reported it to authorities
When the Central station deputies arrived, they found where two fires had been extinguished and a charred nearby apartment wall. Through investigation, including witness statements authorities were led to 23-year-old Loma Linda resident, Sharoon Alvin Shaffi.
Shaffi was arrested and booked into the Central jail for Arson of an inhabited structure and is being held on $250,000 bail. His next court appearance is set for Thursday morning at the San Bernardino Superior Court.
