MORENO VALLEY – Just after midnight on Wednesday a major injury crash was reported in the City of Moreno Valley on Heacock near Cottonwood Avenue. Emergency personnel rushed to the scene arriving within approximately 2 minutes to find a single motorcycle and a severely injured rider.
Through investigation, they were able to determine that the motorcycle was riding northbound on Heacock. At some point, for reasons still under investigation, the rider, later identified as 33-year-old Moreno Valley resident, Danny Maldonado lost control and struck a curb and a street sign. The rider sustained multiple traumatic injuries and was transported to Riverside University Health System (RUHS) in critical condition.
The collision was investigated by the Moreno Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team due to the severity of the motorcyclist’s injuries.
