ONTARIO, Calif. – An Ontario man shot and killed a man who was with his girlfriend at the Red Carpet Motel on Saturday.
Authorities said that they were made aware of the shooting at the motel located at 1117 N. Baker Avenue in the City of Ontario at around 11:45 a.m. Through investigation, they learned that Maximino Marcos, 31, went to the motel upset over the 24-year-old El Monte victim’s relationship with his girlfriend and shot him multiple times. Marcos then fled the scene before the police arrived at the location.
The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead by the Ontario Fire Department medics. Detectives and forensic investigators responded to the scene. Witnesses were interviewed and evidence was collected leading to Marcos being identified as the shooter.
Marcos was located at around 3:30 p.m. in the City of Montclair. He was taken into custody without incident. The firearm believed to be used during the shooting was located. Marcos was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Murder.
