RANCHO CUCAMONGA – A female victim was walking at Milliken Park on Monday night when suddenly a man jumped out from behind the bushes, grabbed her by her shirt, and attempted to pull her into the bush.
At around 10:20 p.m. the female victim called the police regarding the incident. When deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga station arrived, they made contact with the victim gathering information, including the suspect description and information about where the assault took place.
Deputies quickly saturated the area to search for the assailant. Shortly after the search began, they located the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Gregory Nesmith from Atlanta, Georgia hiding in bushes in the same area where the assault took place.
Nesmith was arrested for sexual battery and booked into the West Valley Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
