Man Arrested for Soliciting Boys Met on Social Media for Sex

FONTANA – A man, who is accused of arranging to meet male juveniles on social media sites to solicit them for sex was arrested on Thursday. Daniel Garcia has been the subject of a recent Fontana Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation, officials said.

The investigation was based on the suspicion that Garcia was soliciting minors for sex and distributing child pornography over the internet. The minors contacted by Garcia were juvenile males and detective believe there may be additional victims. Images were located on Garcia’s electronic devices and detectives are attempting to find the victims in the images.

Garcia, who was using different social media services to meet these juveniles, was located and arrested in the 800 block of Muir Avenue in the City of Pomona. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court for an Arraignment hearing on Friday morning.
