MENTONE – Deputies from the Central Station arrested a 21-year-old Redlands man who threatened to shoot numerous people in Mentone Sunday afternoon.
At around 3:23 p.m. deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of Tourmaline Avenue reference a man with a gun. Aguilar, according to witnesses, brandished a pistol from his waistband and threatened to shoot people at the location. The suspect, identified as Preston Aguilar then used a knife to puncture all of the tires of one of the victim’s vehicles.
Aguilar was located during an area search on Lugonia Avenue in the City of Redlands. Aguilar was detained and found to be in the possession of an airsoft pistol and two daggers. He was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for criminal threats. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the San Bernardino Superior Court on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.
